On April 28th, 2012, The 2nd Annual SuperSATurday College Rally and Resource Fair will be held in Oakland, at Laney College from 1pm-5pm. SuperSATurday is a media outreach campaign aiming towards first year college bound students and families in the Bay Area. Their purpose is to inform students about college entrance exams, resources, strategies and workshops in preparation for college, provide test preparation courses and sponsorship of student test fees for qualifying students. There will also be Celebrity Guest Speakers and Performances like Sway Calloway, Big Von, KMEL and many more.

Cambodian Community 4 Peace March

Although March 31, 2012 started off as a rainy day, it marked a truly historic day for the Oakland Cambodian community. In response to the increasing level of violence occurring within the Cambodian community, concerned citizens and local organizations organized and led a peacefully loud and unified march through the San Antonio neighborhood of East Oakland. Darion Jefferson as selected as Student Delegate for SF Asian American Film Festival

Darion Jefferson has been one of our most consistent and active participants in the Spot’s Warriors for Peace program. That being said, it came as no surprise that Darion was selected by the Center of Asian American Media (CAAM) to serve as one of the Student Delegates for the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival!
According to CAAM, The Student Delegates are a small but diverse group of students who undergo Festival “boot camp.” Guided by Festival staff, students participate in a rigorous schedule of film screenings, discussions, and exclusive meetings with filmmakers and special guests.
